What we collect

To make a book we collect the details you type about a child (first name, age, pronouns, appearance traits, interests, companions and optional notes), your email address, and, if you choose, one photo of the child. For printed orders we collect a shipping address and phone number. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.

How we use it

Child details are sent to our AI providers (Anthropic for text, Google or OpenAI for illustrations) solely to write and illustrate the book you requested. We instruct those providers not to train on your data where that option exists. We use your email to deliver books, receipts and account links, and, if you opted in, to suggest next stories. You can unsubscribe from suggestions at any time with the link in every email.

Photos

A photo is used once to create the hero's reference drawing and is then deleted from our storage automatically. The reference drawing (an illustration, not a photo) is kept so future stories can feature the same hero. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Children's privacy

Your Venture is for adults buying books for children. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. By uploading a photo or details you confirm you are the child's parent or guardian, or have their permission.

Who else sees your data

Service providers that help us run the product: Supabase (database and storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Lulu (printing and shipping of physical books; receives the book files, your name, address and phone), Resend (email), and our AI providers. Advertising platforms (Meta, TikTok) receive anonymized conversion events so we can measure ads; we do not share child details with them. We never sell personal data.

Your choices

Email hello@yourventurebooks.com to access, correct or delete your data, including every story and drawing associated with a child. We answer within 30 days.
